This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide medical leadership and oversee Erasca’s lung cancer development initiatives while collaborating with the Chief Medical Officer across the portfolio.

• Offer medical guidance along with scientific and clinical expertise to shape the strategy and implementation of the lung cancer program.

• Lead the clinical development subteam for all studies related to lung cancer.

• Design and execute innovative and efficient clinical trials, while evaluating appropriate endpoints.

• Head clinical study subteams, ensure study integrity, and review, interpret, and effectively communicate safety and efficacy data.

• Develop clinical components of registration strategies and assist with global regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities.

• Author clinical sections for Investigational New Drug applications (INDs), New Drug Applications (NDAs), and other related documents.

• Act as the medical lead for clinical programs and represent Clinical Development on program teams.

• Collaborate with Drug Safety to evaluate compound safety profiles.

• Write or assist in drafting the medical components of clinical research plans, protocols, investigator brochures, clinical study reports, and regulatory submissions.

• Contribute to scientific publications, author manuscripts, and work alongside cross-functional colleagues and thought leaders.

• Present findings at scientific, medical, and regulatory meetings.

• Maintain clinical and scientific expertise through literature reviews, meetings, and engagement with thought leaders, investigators, internal stakeholders, and partners.

• Participate in due diligence and business development efforts.

• Recruit, develop, and mentor medical directors and clinical scientists.

• Establish and nurture relationships across Erasca, particularly with Research and Development partners and stakeholders.

• Execute responsibilities in alignment with company values, policies, and relevant regulations.


⛳️ Requirements

• M.D. degree or equivalent, with subspecialty fellowship training and board certification or eligibility in Oncology or Oncology/Hematology is required.

• Preferred additional training and clinical practice experience in thoracic oncology.

• 8-10+ years of experience in oncology clinical trials and drug development, with significant exposure to the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.

• Highly preferred experience as the clinical lead on late-stage clinical programs in lung cancer.

• Required experience leading or being closely involved in the clinical components of regulatory submissions and direct interactions with health authorities.

• Preferred familiarity with early development and the transition from First in Human (FIH) to registration trials.

• Extensive understanding of clinical trial methodologies along with the regulatory and compliance requirements governing clinical trials.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multiple functions in a matrixed team setting.

• Executive leadership capabilities to educate and influence stakeholders, adding value to strategic business planning and decision-making.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, and writing skills; adept at adapting communication style to suit diverse audiences and situations.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.

• Strong orientation towards learning, curiosity, and a commitment to science and patient care.
