VP, Claims

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Attract, recruit, and oversee high-performing claims teams, workflows, and quality assurance frameworks.

• Lead by example, including personally managing claims when necessary to ensure optimal customer results and inform the development of our AI products.

• Represent Strala's claims capabilities during sales outreach, requests for proposals (RFPs), onboarding, and discussions with executives.

• Utilize your industry contacts to foster discussions with carriers, managing general agents (MGAs), and captives.

• Collaborate closely with Sales to design service level agreements (SLAs) and delivery models tailored to client specifications.

• Serve as the executive sponsor throughout the implementation process and for long-term customer relationships.

• Bring firsthand claims expertise into product and engineering conversations as an active and ongoing contributor in shaping our AI products.

• Influence the design of our internal tools and agentic AI products.

• Establish key data capture, workflow, and user experience requirements for adjusters to ensure that claims expertise can be documented, structured, and scaled through technology.

• Apply practical insights to identify where AI and automation can deliver value, and where human expertise remains crucial.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12+ years of experience in property and casualty (P&C) claims, ideally covering auto and liability.

• At least 5+ years in a senior leadership position at a carrier, third-party administrator (TPA), or managing general agent (MGA), preferably during a growth or transformation phase.

• Demonstrated ability to build and scale operational teams and systems from the ground up.

• In-depth knowledge of claims technology stacks, data strategy, and automation processes.

• Tech-savvy and genuinely enthusiastic about AI—comfortable collaborating with engineers, adept with modern AI tools, and motivated by leveraging technology to transform claims handling.

• Effective in external-facing roles and skilled at fostering long-term trust.

• Willingness to travel as needed.

• A grounded leader capable of functioning at both strategic and operational levels.

• Bonus points for experience in establishing a new claims department from scratch or hands-on experience integrating AI or automation into a claims workflow.
