
VP, Business Development – Oral Solid Dose

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulates and implements strategic business development initiatives for designated territories and business segments, fostering revenue growth through the acquisition and expansion of partnerships with large pharmaceutical, mid-sized pharmaceutical, and biotechnology firms.
• Develops and nurtures robust customer relationships, uncovers new market opportunities, and spearheads new business development activities to meet commercial goals.
• Conducts research to identify and cultivate new preclinical and early-phase development and manufacturing prospects from various sources, including outbound prospecting and inbound leads from the company website.
• Represents Alcami by participating in trade shows and conferences, while also actively engaging in industry associations and events.
• Manages sales generation for Drug Product development and manufacturing in their region, along with other services as necessary, overseeing the complete sales process from prospect identification to closing deals.
• Involves lead generation, proposal follow-up, contract terms and conditions, and negotiations.
• Sustains customer relationships for assigned services; promotes continuous improvement and effectively communicates customer needs within the organization.
• Collaborates internally and externally to support the growth of profitable business and enduring relationships.
• Drives year-on-year business growth from both existing and new accounts within their territory.
• Maintains precise customer data and updates the Customer Relationship Management system (Salesforce).
• Aids in gathering market intelligence by reporting significant information regarding customers, competitors, and the marketplace internally.
• Monitors and reports on market and competitive activities, providing relevant updates and information within the organization.
• Works with Marketing to create marketing campaigns and analyze inbound marketing data/trends to stimulate new business.
• Ensures timely completion and adherence to cGMP and all other pertinent company training requirements.
• Performs other assigned duties.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Chemistry, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering) is required.
• At least 10 years of experience in CDMO sales and business development focused on oral solid dose development and manufacturing is required.
• Familiarity with cGMP and the drug development process through coursework or prior experience is required.
• Previous pharmaceutical or CDMO experience in technical roles related to development or manufacturing is preferred.
• Current understanding of consumer behavior within the industry.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills are required.
• Strong project management and organizational skills are a must.
• Ability to effectively multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are required.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to adapt approaches for diverse customers and clients.
• Results-driven, determined, and self-motivated; comfortable, willing, and able to make cold calls.
• Must be at ease prospecting at the C-suite level.
• Capability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in building and nurturing strong customer relationships and influencing others.
• Required proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using internet and social media tools for researching potential leads is required.
• Technologically oriented with the ability to quickly learn to use a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) is necessary.
• Previous experience with a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), preferably Salesforce, is preferred.
