This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Lead the implementation and continuous growth of the LAB eN2 BRIDGE alliance in the United States.
• Act as Evotec’s on-site 'Evotec Collaboration Lead' at some of the most prestigious universities and non-university research institutions in the US.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize therapeutic projects from academic collaborators, in line with established strategic focus areas.
• Collaborate with internal scientific and drug discovery teams to formulate development plans that mitigate risks for early concepts and facilitate the transition from idea to a therapeutic concept for human testing.
• Work closely with institutional Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) and Principal Investigators to streamline project onboarding, funding decisions, and licensing opportunities.
• Manage daily collaboration with our partner to ensure effective communication, alignment, and achievement of partnership goals.
• Provide strategic guidance for Evotec's academic alliances throughout the US.
• Contribute to the overall Academic Partnerships strategy by sharing insights from the US ecosystem and market trends.
• Collaborate across various internal teams, including research, business development, and alliance management, to ensure successful program execution.
• PhD or MD degree.
• Over 12 years of experience in basic research and/or drug discovery in academia, biotech, or pharmaceutical settings.
• A competitive and well-documented history in discovering first-in-class or best-in-class therapeutics, particularly in the metabolic disease field.
• Proven experience in evaluating and recommending investments in early-stage therapeutic concepts within the specified therapeutic areas across various modalities.
• Experience working within or in conjunction with academic institutions, technology transfer offices, and industry collaborations.
• Strong knowledge of drug discovery and early development processes, including critical decision points and risk management strategies.
• Demonstrated capability to manage and expand external partnerships.
• General understanding of intellectual property (IP) rights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively engaging both scientific and business audiences.
