Virtual Tutor – Work Study

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Provide one-on-one tutoring to students through UPchieve’s virtual classroom utilizing text chat and a shared whiteboard.

• Obtain certification in three or more subjects offered by UPchieve.

• Offer academic assistance in math, science, reading and writing, English, social studies and history, as well as college preparation.

• Complete UPchieve’s tutor training program and incorporate feedback into your tutoring sessions.

• Deliver supportive, student-focused guidance.

• Comply with Liberty University policies and represent the institution in a commendable manner.

• Collaborate effectively as part of a team while upholding Liberty University’s Christian values and mission.

• Work remotely using a computer with a reliable internet connection.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program at Liberty University.

• Eligibility for Federal Work Study.

• Availability to work between 5 to 10 hours per week.

• Must successfully pass all required background checks.

• Must not be in default on any federal student or parent loans.

• Must not have any disqualifying convictions or findings related to government funds.

• Preferred candidates are at least second-year students at Liberty University.

• Must be in good academic standing; no reprimands or suspensions preferred.

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.

• Ability to comply with federal, state, and institutional policies, including confidentiality and recordkeeping standards.

• Proficient in verbal and written communication.

• Capability to understand, speak, and write in English.

• Quick adaptability to new technologies.

• Ability to work under pressure, follow written instructions, and demonstrate initiative.

• Strong self-discipline and effective time management skills.

• Ability to reason, analyze information, apply sound judgment, and solve both routine and complex problems.

• Must have access to a computer with a strong internet connection.
