Virtual Tax Preparer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Review, prepare, and file tax returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to tax laws and regulations.

• Work in partnership with Liberty Tax Customer Service Representatives to address escalated tax-related inquiries from remote locations.

• Resolve discrepancies and rectify incomplete information found on tax returns.

• Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and best practices.

• Utilize company-provided software to access, review, and submit tax return data.

• Verify that tax returns comply with company quality standards prior to final submission.

• Support the ongoing enhancement of review processes.

• Offer constructive feedback during team meetings.

• Deliver accurate guidance and support regarding tax-related issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in tax preparation or a related field is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.

• Exceptional analytical skills coupled with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

• Reliable internet connection and capacity to maintain a secure, distraction-free workspace.

• Willingness to work seasonal hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.

• Must possess a PTIN or be eligible to obtain one.

• Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.

• A headset or other communication devices may be required.
