Tax Renewals & Exemptions Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare and submit annual business tax and license renewals while researching relevant state and local jurisdiction requirements.

• Oversee tax exemption requests, applications, certificates, supporting documentation, and associated renewal obligations.

• Monitor renewal and exemption deadlines, track outstanding items, and maintain internal status reports until completion.

• Engage with clients to gather necessary information, documentation, approvals, and other filing necessities.

• Collaborate with state and local taxing authorities regarding pending applications, approvals, rejected submissions, and missing documents.

• Keep accurate client account records and assist with tax registrations, account updates, and account closures as workload allows.

• Contribute to broadband and telecommunications initiatives that enhance connectivity and promote digital inclusion.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in tax compliance, business licensing, renewals, exemptions, registrations, or similar administrative support preferred.

• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to handle multiple deadlines and see assignments through to completion.

• Strong research, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, and PDF Exchange Editor or Adobe.

• Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with various teams.

• Experience interacting with state and local taxing authorities and using online agency portals is preferred.

• Background in telecom or indirect tax compliance is an advantage.
