Virtual Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-centric virtualization platforms.

• Oversee software-defined networking and software-defined storage solutions.

• Manage platforms within both on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Collaborate with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu technologies.

• Automate operational processes and oversee capacity management.

• Operate VMware platforms at an enterprise level.

• Provide support for contemporary cloud-native workloads.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required.

• At least five years of practical VMware platform engineering experience.

• Extensive knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking solutions.

• Strong skills in PowerCLI scripting and experience with automation tools.

• Understanding of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container technologies.

• Solid comprehension of disaster recovery strategies and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is preferred.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration initiatives from VMware to other virtualization platforms is preferred.
