Senior Lead Kubernetes Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, manage, and scale enterprise Kubernetes infrastructure to ensure optimal availability and performance across 140+ clusters.

• Spearhead the implementation of automated continuous workload optimization to minimize manual tuning and reduce human effort.

• Oversee and enhance intelligent resource automation platforms for workload sizing, placement, and Karpenter configurations.

• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, FinOps, and Finance teams to promote sustainable cost avoidance and alignment.

• Develop robust Infrastructure as Code and advanced observability tools tailored for the Kubernetes ecosystem.

• Mentor both senior and junior engineers, establishing standards for technical excellence, platform resilience, and security.

• Utilize FinOps principles to enhance resource management and support scalable growth.

• Empower Coupa to provide highly available services to customers worldwide.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7-10 years of demonstrated experience as a Principal or Lead Platform Engineer managing Kubernetes at a large enterprise scale.

• 5+ years of experience in implementing, designing, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters.

• Extensive hands-on experience with intelligent resource automation platforms and automated scaling tools like Karpenter or Cluster Autoscaler.

• Strong grasp of FinOps principles with a successful track record in executing cost-avoidance strategies within cloud-native environments.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu.

• In-depth technical expertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud services and containerization technologies.

• Outstanding cross-functional communication skills to effectively align complex technical projects with business objectives.
