Virtual Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization solutions.

• Oversee software-defined networking and software-defined storage systems.

• Provide support for on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Work with technologies such as vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu.

• Automate platform operations and oversee capacity management.

• Manage VMware platforms at an enterprise level.

• Diagnose issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Implement disaster recovery strategies and utilize SRM.

• Adapt to the changing VMware product ecosystem while handling modern cloud-native workloads.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• More than 5 years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking.

• Proficient in PowerCLI scripting and automation tools.

• Understanding of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container solutions.

• Solid grasp of disaster recovery techniques and SRM.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across compute, network, and storage domains.

• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is a plus.

• Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration projects from VMware to alternative virtualization solutions is a bonus.
