Virtual Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization solutions.

• Create, implement, and oversee software-defined networking solutions.

• Develop, implement, and maintain software-defined storage solutions.

• Manage infrastructure across both on-premises and hybrid cloud settings.

• Collaborate with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu technologies.

• Automate operational tasks and oversee capacity management.

• Operate VMware platforms at an enterprise level.

• Support contemporary cloud-native applications.

• Utilize systematic troubleshooting and operational methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of five years of practical experience in VMware platform engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Familiarity with NSX-T or NSX-V networking solutions.

• Proficient in PowerCLI scripting and automation tools.

• Knowledge of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container technologies.

• A solid understanding of disaster recovery strategies and SRM.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is preferred.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration processes from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms is preferred.
