Virtual Platform Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +34 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and uphold virtualized infrastructure for on-premises data centers, Department of Defense (DoD), and commercial cloud solutions, which encompass private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.

• Execute implementations and upgrades of host, hypervisor, and virtual application software across the associated hardware, software, and applications.

• Deliver cloud-based infrastructure assistance for virtual machines, virtual appliances, software, programs, applications, and components of virtualized infrastructure.

• Guarantee high availability, security, and integrity of hosts, virtual management applications, and related resources.

• Monitor hypervisors, infrastructure, and virtualization applications, including configuring alerts, monitoring error logs, and automating administrative tasks.

• Apply patches and releases to host and virtualization infrastructure applications across development, testing, pre-production, and production settings.

• Diagnose system issues on hosts, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain system documentation, including tracking alterations to virtualized infrastructure configurations.

• Aid in capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning for assigned virtualized systems.

• Engage in virtualization disaster-recovery planning and support fault-tolerance and recovery strategies.

• Evaluate performance trends to enhance system and application performance across virtualized environments.

• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of intricate multi-cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS deployments.

• Create custom scripts to automate administrative tasks and boost system efficiency.

• Utilize expertise in network architecture, security, and routing, including VPCs, load balancers, and firewalls.

• Operate in office or remote settings as necessary.

• Collaborate with Federal Government clients through TekSynap’s information management and technology services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in managing and maintaining virtualized server environments and hosted applications.

• At least two (2) years of experience leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects related to virtualization, systems administration, and networking.

• Five (5) years of hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) commercial cloud hosting solutions (preferred).

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE.

• CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+).

• Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP).

• One of the following Google Cloud Platform certifications: Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Google Professional Cloud Architect.

• One of the following AWS certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations.

• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).

• Secret – IT-I (Tier 5/SSBI) Critical Sensitive Clearance.

• U.S. Citizen.

• Proficiency in implementing and maintaining complex multi-cloud solutions across Google, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and OCI.

• Strong understanding of cloud deployment models, network architecture, security, and virtualized infrastructure.

• Skilled in writing custom scripts to automate administrative tasks and enhance system efficiency.

• Candidates must reside in one of the approved hiring states within the United States.

• Ability to work day shift Monday–Friday and potentially evenings and weekends as required by program and contract needs.
