Virtual Occupational Therapist, Full & Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to designated K-12 students in alignment with mandated IEPs and service objectives.

• Perform screenings along with formal and informal assessments of students' occupational therapy requirements utilizing documented best practices.

• Implement state-specific policies and procedures for providing occupational therapy services.

• Prepare evaluation reports, progress notes, and individualized education plans.

• Document all student interactions and detailed therapy notes in the Education Management System in accordance with Medicaid guidelines.

• Actively participate as a member of the IEP team by attending meetings and submitting necessary documentation.

• Engage with parents/learning coaches and school special education personnel regarding student needs and IEP objectives.

• Collaborate with teachers and coordinate specially designed instruction outlined in IEPs.

• Assist with IEP documentation, paperwork, and related procedures.

• Keep accurate records in the Education Management System and special education software, including secondary IEP systems.

• Foster positive working relationships with the OT team, schools, and programs served.

• Review and assess reports to ensure compliance.

• Acquire and maintain necessary licenses and clearances.

• Complete any additional assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE accredited institution.

• NBCOT Certification.

• Valid Board and/or Department of Education License for Occupational Therapy in your state of residence and the state of assignment.

• Capability to obtain and sustain multiple required state certifications and clearances as designated.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a K-12 school environment.

• Proficient technology skills.

• High level of adaptability and the ability to work autonomously.

• Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.

• Flexible work hours during school operations, from 8 am to 8 pm, subject to adjustment based on caseload and student location.

• Proficient in conducting evaluations using an approved list of evidence-based, norm-referenced assessments.

• Mouse (required) and keyboard (required) to be provided by the therapist.
