Virtual Design Construction Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.

📋 Description

• Develop the conceptual design package utilizing design software in collaboration with project leaders while adhering to established standards and best practices.

• Suggest electrical and automation methodologies by reviewing previous projects, electrical codes, and industry best practices.

• Address challenges by working with project leaders and proposing effective solutions.

• Engage with clients, contractors, and project teams through onsite or virtual meetings to assess project scope, timelines, and prefabrication possibilities.

• Guide team members through developmental delegation, evaluating deliverables, and offering constructive feedback.

• Define project direction by documenting the scope and establishing the timeline for deliverables.

• Evaluate project risks and opportunities to implement design strategies using VDC software.

• Collect project information and relay updates to all relevant team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or an associate degree (A.A., A.S.) in a relevant field such as Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• 4-10 years of experience in virtual design and construction, technical modeling, or a similar role, preferably within the electrical industry.

• Ideal candidates will possess advanced skills in virtual modeling software, a solid understanding of construction documentation, and experience working with cross-functional teams to facilitate complex design processes.

• Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards and advanced project coordination is preferred.

• Travel will be necessary and will vary based on business needs, not exceeding 35% of your time.
