Virtual Apps and Desktops Engineer – I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• The Virtual Apps and Desktops I role is responsible for overseeing the operational functions assigned in alignment with Nordic Global Healthcare IT leadership and IT governance.

• This position entails the analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of intricate issues related to the management of virtual applications and desktops.

• The Virtual Apps and Desktops I is expected to evaluate complex systems, document end-user delivery standards, and ensure high levels of stability, reliability, and availability for end-user virtual environments.

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, testing and deploying client software, managing patches, and providing associated support.

• This position also involves the design, construction, and support of virtualization technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, along with 3+ years of IT work experience -OR- 5+ years of relevant IT experience.

• In-depth knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Omnissa Horizon, including but not limited to, CVAD infrastructure, Horizon infrastructure, PVS/MCS, App Layering/App Volumes, and Citrix WSA and Horizon endpoint clients.

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop operating systems and their components.

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Management.

• Solid scripting skills using PowerShell and/or Visual Basic.

• Familiarity with hypervisor platforms such as VMware ESX, infrastructure components, network protocols, and certificates.

• Ability to prioritize and perform tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Competence in authoring technical documents and creating procedure manuals.

• Strong comprehension of the organization's goals and objectives.

• Ability to research current and emerging technologies.

• Highly self-motivated and directed, with a strong attention to detail.
