This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform hands-on detection engineering to create custom alerting solutions.
• Apply risk-based analytics to minimize alert volumes while enhancing the quality of alert content.
• Incorporate external signals, such as threat intelligence, into alerting pipelines tailored for specific use cases.
• Design and sustain agentic tools to boost detection effectiveness and efficiency.
• Utilize security tools, logs, and custom telemetry to develop scalable detections.
• Analyze both structured and unstructured telemetry to generate significant security signals.
• Manage detection repositories and maintain use case libraries.
• Perform regular content optimization.
• Collaborate with both internal and external cross-functional teams to address threats aimed at DoorDash.
• Engage in and lead initiatives that enhance the security stance of all DoorDash brands.
• Establish and uphold standards and documentation to enhance service consistency.
• Guide and nurture other engineers within the Cyber Defense organization.
• Participate in and assist with the on-call rotation.
• Over 7 years of experience in secure coding, alert development, and detection engineering.
• Hands-on experience in building, maintaining, and operating a detection-as-code pipeline.
• Proven ability to develop automation that significantly enhances detection accuracy, speed, or quality.
• Demonstrated capability in creating agents that address detection challenges.
• In-depth understanding of cloud-based and distributed systems.
• Experience collaborating with global and cross-functional partners, particularly in incident response, insider risk, and threat hunting teams.
• Expertise in SIEM querying languages: SQL, SPL, and KQL.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python and Go.
• Experience in translating MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND, and other industry frameworks into rational analyses of detection coverage.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Cortex, and Google SecOps is a plus.
