This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and write Airworthiness certification and conformance plans for both developmental and production aircraft stores, aiding Flight Releases, customized airworthiness, and customer platform integration across all services.
• Conduct technical airworthiness planning, tracking, and verification support within a digital framework.
• Formulate and negotiate airworthiness certification bases, compliance methods, and other certification-related activities.
• Foster total-system Airworthiness relationships with engineers, technical authorities, and customer partners.
• Lead technical reviews throughout the total system design, development, and testing procedures.
• Execute functional and process analyses, allocate requirements, and conduct definition studies alongside program engineers and customer representatives.
• Convert customer requirements into criteria and derived requirements.
• Achieve customer airworthiness certification goals and revise Airworthiness plans throughout the product lifecycle.
• Assist in design development to ensure Airworthiness compliance and processes that lead to Military Flight Release or other customer-specific airworthiness approvals.
• Request engineering and systems data for Airworthiness Boards, technical interchange meetings, and risk assessments.
• Develop, write, and sustain Airworthiness activities in a digital environment linked with system requirements, schedules, flight test point matrices, and risk evaluations.
• Conduct statistical analysis of program performance and contribute to flight test program execution schedules.
• Generate innovative solutions for technical and execution challenges and engage the team to address issues.
• A bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related aviation engineering field; equivalent engineering experience may be accepted in place of education.
• Over 8 years of airworthiness engineering experience.
• Proven experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with DoW and FAA airworthiness authorities.
• Knowledge of DoW Airworthiness Policy Directives, Instructions, and Airworthiness Bulletins (MIL-HDBK-516, Seek Eagle Process, WSESRB, NNMSB, etc.).
• Experience with FAA Airworthiness processes throughout the lifecycle of a developmental aircraft system to ensure successful program completion.
• Skilled in developing and managing Airworthiness plans, tracking Airworthiness criteria, and related activities.
• Familiarity with store integration on DoW platforms.
• Capability to initiate and implement Airworthiness Certification process improvement initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on technical topics.
• Proficient in computer use and documentation practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret-Level security clearance.
• Preferred: A master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Preferred: Over 15 years of flight airworthiness engineering experience.
• Preferred: Systems engineering and Airworthiness experience with new small UAS and missile system airworthiness authorizations.
• Preferred: Previous experience as an Airworthiness Engineering Lead or Airworthiness Engineer.
• Preferred: Airworthiness experience within a team that has conducted new store integration activities.
• Preferred: Experience working with the Department of War (DoW) as a contractor.
