Video Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Contribute original footage that you have personally shot and fully own, or source footage that is openly licensed.

• Create realistic editing briefs based on the footage provided.

• Develop post-production tasks from start to finish using your personal editing software.

• Edit footage and introduce defects or distractors as necessary.

• Produce reference edits for evaluating correct results.

• Draft clear, checkable grading criteria and articulate the editorial reasoning behind them.

• Blind-solve tasks created by fellow editors.

• Provide step-by-step solutions.

• Work on projects aimed at training and improving AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional editing experience in film and TV, commercials, broadcast news, or social and creator production.

• Ability to manage deliverables from start to finish.

• Proficient in at least one professional editing software: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer.

• Basic skills in color and audio cleanup.

• Familiarity with delivery specifications such as resolution, frame rate, codecs, audio channel layouts, and frame-accurate cuts.

• Strong advantage: a collection of unpublished original footage that you have personally shot and fully own.

• Individuals appearing in footage must be willing to sign an appearance release.

• Submit a resume along with a link to your reel or portfolio.

• Complete a brief AI interview regarding your editing background.

• Respond to inquiries about available footage, ownership, and consent for its use.

• Not available to residents of California.

• Must be able to commit to approximately 12 hours per week.

• Must be engaged as an independent contractor.

• H-1B and STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.
