Video Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Edit 5–10 impactful videos daily, capturing the authentic, diligent energy of trades-focused businesses.

• Propel organic virality by crafting content tailored for high retention, utilizing trending audio, and expertly applying psychological hooks.

• Evaluate content performance metrics to discern the reasons behind successful videos, using data to enhance pacing and music selections.

• Collaborate with a team of two other committed editors to conduct creative workshops, exchange insights, and elevate the department's overall output.

• Oversee post-production workflows for both photo and video projects, ensuring swift turnaround times while maintaining brand consistency.

• Collaborate with account managers and designers to produce refined, high-converting visual assets for social media, websites, and advertisements.

• Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging editing techniques, and AI tools to consistently enhance production standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–4+ years of professional experience in video and photo production, ideally within an agency or a fast-paced business setting.

• Demonstrated history of virality with a portfolio showcasing a comprehensive understanding of TikTok, Reels, and Shorts algorithms.

• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and the Creative Cloud suite, including Lightroom.

• Highly analytical mindset with the capacity to edit based on watch time, CTR, and audience psychology.

• Ability to operate at a high pace, maintaining quality while delivering a significant volume of daily outputs.

• Strong affinity for or interest in the blue-collar and trades sectors.

• Proficient in Google Workspace tools for effective file management and project organization.

• Advanced skills in motion graphics or animation specifically tailored for short-form social content.

• Experience incorporating AI media tools (such as Higgsfield) into production workflows to enhance efficiency.

• Leadership experience or a desire to mentor and guide junior creative personnel.
