This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the vision, culture, and standards for spa, fitness, recovery, and longevity programming across all properties of Discovery Land Company.
• Define and refine the wellness philosophy and member experience standards throughout all locations.
• Design distinctive wellness programming encompassing spa, fitness, recovery, and longevity services.
• Develop and maintain the Wellness Brand Manual.
• Keep abreast of wellness, fitness, and longevity trends while generating innovative ideas.
• Collaborate with development, architecture, and design teams on wellness facilities from inception to opening.
• Oversee wellness pre-opening timelines, including design approvals, equipment procurement, licensing lead times, and staffing ramp schedules.
• Establish standards for space planning, equipment, and design.
• Recommend priorities for capital investments and approve wellness capital and operating expenditures within designated authority.
• Manage the wellness department’s annual operating budget in conjunction with property finance teams.
• Ensure adherence to licensing, certification, health and safety, accessibility, sanitation, insurance, and data privacy regulations across different jurisdictions.
• Establish oversight from a medical director or physician group for medical-adjacent longevity services.
• Set staffing standards and assist with hiring, training, development, recruitment, succession planning, and talent mobility for wellness teams at properties.
• Conduct regular site visits to properties to evaluate staff performance, facility condition, and member feedback.
• Define the portfolio’s wellness technology stack and manage relationships with vendors and brands.
• Represent wellness in member communications and community engagement initiatives.
• Cultivate member relationships and comprehend evolving wellness expectations and family needs.
• Oversee wellness service delivery, member interactions, feedback, satisfaction, utilization, and program enrollment.
• Review monthly Profit & Loss statements along with annual budgets and capital expenditures at club locations.
• Establish succession and career-path plans while monitoring promotion and retention rates.
• Leverage wellness and longevity technology alongside industry best practices.
• Travel frequently to properties and events, visiting each property annually and submitting post-visit reports with strategic recommendations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in wellness, spa, and fitness management.
• A minimum of 5 years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven ability to lead wellness development projects from concept through to opening across multiple locations.
• Experience in building and leading teams within a discreet, relationship-focused service culture.
• Working knowledge of wellness and spa regulatory requirements across various jurisdictions.
• Experience collaborating with medical or clinical oversight for longevity-related services.
• Comfort in operating within a capital-intensive, real estate-driven business environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and lead a diverse team across a geographically dispersed portfolio.
• Familiarity with international markets and trends in wellness, fitness, and longevity.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Capable of meeting physical demands such as standing, walking, and moving for over eight hours, as well as lifting/carrying items that may exceed 50 pounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain composure during busy periods.
• Flexibility to adapt to new projects and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Relevant wellness or spa management certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in additional languages is preferred.
