This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
β’ Take ownership of the LAD underwriting strategy, risk management, and operations to ensure appropriate pricing, plan design, and overall risk selection aimed at driving profitable growth.
β’ Oversee the complete lifecycle of the customer.
β’ Create and execute consistent underwriting strategies and practices.
β’ Invest in and cultivate the LAD Underwriting department to foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and innovation across teams.
β’ Develop a high-performing leadership pipeline, nurture future underwriting talent, enhance succession plans, and promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
β’ Partner with sales to deliver industry-leading underwriting results that provide a competitive edge for The Standard.
β’ Keep abreast of industry trends and incorporate new technologies to enhance underwriting accuracy and efficiency.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Business, Math, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
β’ A minimum of twelve to fifteen years of progressive experience in the Group Insurance or financial services industries, with at least ten years of progressively responsible group underwriting experience preferred.
β’ At least five years of experience in complex national accounts business, with a minimum of seven years in progressively responsible management roles.
β’ Proven track record of successfully collaborating across organizations to achieve business outcomes.
β’ Strong expertise in workplace benefits including life, absence, and disability products.
β’ Professional certification is not applicable.
