Recreational Marine Underwriting Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Facilitate the prompt and precise issuance of Package, Commercial Marine, and Umbrella/Bumbershoot policies by converting underwriting proposals and binding instructions into finalized policies, usually within 48 hours of receipt.

• Ensure effective policy lifecycle management by processing cancellations and reinstatements within 24 hours while upholding policy integrity and maintaining accurate coverage records.

• Act as a reliable partner to underwriters by aiding in new and renewal business activities, which include rating, proposal preparation, quote development, file management, reporting, and follow-up activities that foster profitable growth.

• Advocate for underwriting quality by confirming that policy issuance aligns with approved quotes, underwriting instructions, and coverage specifications to guarantee accuracy and consistency.

• Provide an outstanding broker experience by being a knowledgeable and responsive resource for policy inquiries, coverage questions, endorsements, billing issues, and service requests.

• Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with brokers through effective communication, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented approach that boosts client satisfaction and nurtures long-term business partnerships.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.

• A minimum of one year of relevant experience in insurance, underwriting support, administration, or customer service. (An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.)

• A proven commitment to continuous professional development and a readiness to pursue industry-related coursework and professional designations.

• Outstanding customer service skills and a professional demeanor in broker and client interactions.
