This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
β’ Responsible for underwriting risks in a book of business under technical supervision.
β’ Evaluates applications and financial criteria for risks that necessitate advanced underwriting expertise.
β’ Assesses the acceptability of risk in line with company protocols and standards.
β’ Establishes appropriate pricing through financial and competitive analysis, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements.
β’ Prepares quotes and addresses inquiries from agencies, policyholders, or other external parties, escalating issues to management with suggested solutions when necessary.
β’ Engages in negotiations with agents to achieve favorable and profitable results.
β’ Analyzes the quality, volume, and profitability of underwritten risks, compiling reports for management evaluation.
β’ Promotes products and services through agencies or within the brokerage community, including conducting field visits.
β’ Cultivates and sustains relationships with agencies and/or brokers.
β’ Stays informed about state/territory regulations and issues, industry developments, and trends, sharing insights with colleagues.
β’ A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
β’ Generally, a minimum of three to five years of underwriting experience is expected.
β’ In-depth knowledge of underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices is essential.
β’ Proven high level of technical skill and product-specific knowledge is necessary.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software is required.
