This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement SmithRx’s enterprise rebate strategy, formulary management, and clinical criteria.

• Drive negotiations with manufacturers and build strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies.

• Manage GPO partnerships and their administration.

• Keep track of trends and changes within the pharmaceutical market.

• Provide high-level oversight for rebate financial modeling and assessments.

• Act as the executive lead for SmithRx’s formulary strategy.

• Chair the P&T Committee and maintain governance standards.

• Oversee the formulation of clinical criteria for Utilization Management.

• Maintain independence from manufacturer influence, focusing on patient health and employer savings.

• Work collaboratively with clinical leadership regarding specialty drugs.

• Partner with executive colleagues across various departments.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of progressive leadership experience in PBM trade relations, pharmaceutical market access, formulary management, or related clinical strategy positions.

• Experience in multiple lines of business: Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and Exchange.

• Profound understanding of the PBM ecosystem, including drug manufacturer contracting, GPO frameworks, and the operational differences between traditional rebate aggregators and 100% pass-through PBMs.

• Demonstrated success in negotiating complex rebate and value-based contracts with major pharmaceutical manufacturers.

• Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacology, drug pipelines, and evidence-based medicine necessary for guiding P&T committees and developing clinical criteria.

• Advanced financial modeling capabilities with the skill to convert complex rebate structures into cost-effective strategies.

• A PharmD degree is highly preferred; however, a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Healthcare Administration combined with substantial industry experience will also be considered.

• An active pharmacist license in good standing is advantageous.
