This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct the global government affairs strategy across the U.S. and international markets (NORAM, EMEA, APAC, Middle East)
• Establish and nurture senior relationships with policymakers, education leaders, and regulatory agencies
• Influence policy and regulatory frameworks related to edtech, credentialing, accreditation, and workforce readiness
• Proactively address and react to legislative and regulatory changes that affect the business
• Enhance win rates in complex system negotiations and strategic enterprise accounts
• Create funding and policy conditions that facilitate acquisition and growth
• Offer executive-level support to promote high-priority initiatives
• Expedite deal cycles from award through to signature and launch
• Collaborate with Business Units (K-12, Higher Ed, International, Parchment) to boost performance on strategic opportunities
• Lead and develop a global team within the Strategic Growth business unit
• Serve as a key contributor in pipeline and forecast evaluations, providing insights into influence, risk management, and deal acceleration
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Product to synchronize strategy and execution
• Supply enablement resources and thought leadership to enhance field effectiveness
• Identify and unlock new global markets and growth opportunities
• Broaden Instructure’s footprint as a trusted, mission-driven leader
• Manage international strategy, including grant-funded projects, embassy partnerships, and multinational collaborations
• Extensive experience in government affairs, policy, strategic sales, or related leadership positions (bonus - B2B and/or SaaS)
• Demonstrated success in influencing procurement, funding, or legislative results
• Experience in leading global teams and overseeing external partners (e.g., lobbying firms)
• Strong executive presence with the capacity to influence C-suite and public sector decision-makers
• In-depth knowledge of K-12, Higher Ed, and/or public sector markets
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities
• Willingness to travel, including internationally
