Vice President – South Central Zone Leader, Underwriting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee all underwriting operations and business performance for the South Central Zone.

• Formulate and implement regional business plans aimed at achieving profitable premium growth while upholding underwriting discipline.

• Take ownership of regional production, profitability, portfolio management, and service targets.

• Track regional KPIs, submission flow, hit ratios, pricing adequacy, loss trends, and overall portfolio performance.

• Recognize growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.

• Represent the South Central Region to executive leadership and provide regular performance updates, including opportunities and risks.

• Recruit, nurture, mentor, and retain a high-performing underwriting team.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, urgency, and underwriting excellence.

• Offer technical guidance and referral authority on complex, high-profile, or large casualty accounts.

• Build and enhance executive-level relationships with key wholesale brokers and strategic distribution partners across the South Central Region.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10+ years of experience in commercial casualty underwriting, ideally within E&S or specialty insurance.

• Proven leadership experience in managing underwriting teams and regional operations.

• Strong technical underwriting knowledge with the capacity to assess complex casualty risks.

• Demonstrated success in driving profitable growth in a wholesale distribution model.

• Solid understanding of portfolio management, pricing, and underwriting profitability.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building abilities.

• Strategic thinker capable of balancing growth, risk selection, and operational execution.
