This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +43 more states.
• Lead, develop, and expand a high-performing software engineering organization responsible for product delivery, technological advancement, security, reliability, and operational outcomes.
• Enhance delivery predictability, developer productivity, software quality, resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, product management, operations, and security to align business strategy with technology priorities and investment decisions.
• Establish metrics and KPIs to measure strategic progress, engineering effectiveness, AI adoption, and business impact.
• Assess emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Provide guidance to executive leadership on technology and AI opportunities, risks, and industry trends.
• Implement MEDHOST’s AI-first transformation strategy across products, software engineering, and AI-DLC.
• Advance the R&D department’s AI-DLC strategy to enhance engineering and process efficiencies.
• Propel AI-driven experiences in customer-facing products and enterprise workflows.
• Oversee planning, execution, governance, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation for strategic technology and AI initiatives.
• Remain updated on models, agent orchestration, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Implement and refine MEDHOST’s technology strategy and architecture roadmap.
• Lead the modernization of legacy applications, cloud platforms, APIs, and AI capabilities.
• Govern technology standards and investment priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Over 15 years of progressive technology experience, including more than 8 years of leadership in software engineering and at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing large software engineering teams.
• 3-5+ years of experience in EHR and healthcare software environments.
• Proven track record in leading modernization and software platform transformation initiatives.
• In-depth expertise in modern software engineering practices, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing AI and machine learning capabilities within enterprise products and AI-DLC workflows.
• Strong grasp of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI frameworks, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration, and AI governance.
• Experience in highly regulated industries with a strong understanding of complex security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with Claude, OpenAI technologies, Microsoft Co-Pilot, and AWS Bedrock is a plus.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in managing technology investment portfolios and developing business cases.
