This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish the baseline for fleetwide reliability and risk model.
• Create a unified reliability and resilience baseline.
• Develop a risk-ranking method that focuses on customer impact.
• Set up a recurring assurance cycle and evidence model for essential controls.
• Oversee technical assurance, inspections, and verification of critical controls across electrical, mechanical, controls, automation, emergency response, and commissioning domains.
• Lead corrective action initiatives and promote closed-loop learning from incidents, near misses, and weak signals.
• Maintain a corrective action register prioritized by risk.
• Ensure that lessons learned contribute to fleetwide standards, procedures, telemetry, supplier requirements, training, and capital plans.
• Promote clear reporting and responsible learning.
• Create a roadmap for detecting configuration and automation drift.
• Collaborate with Product, Automation, IT, and Cybersecurity teams on telemetry, alarm quality, configuration management, and AI-driven drift detection.
• Establish governance and executive reporting in partnership with Operations.
• Prepare succinct monthly executive reports and portfolio-level insights on operational performance, risk, and trends.
• Define and oversee global operational standards, performance metrics, and risk management.
• Own the framework for global operational standards and related policies.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and reporting structures across the portfolio.
• Audit compliance, identify systemic issues, and drive consistency, governance, accountability, and continuous improvement across various regions.
• Build and lead a dedicated team with budgetary responsibilities.
• Exercise formal assurance authority by requiring evidence and management responses, conducting reviews and inspections, and escalating findings to the Executive Leadership Team.
• A minimum of 15 years in mission-critical operations, reliability engineering, operational assurance, critical facilities, industrial operations, process safety, or a similar high-reliability environment.
• Proven experience in leading reliability, technical assurance, operational excellence, engineering assurance, or risk-based inspection across a complex operational fleet.
• Strong knowledge of mission-critical environments involving electrical, mechanical, controls, automation, commissioning, maintenance, and operational procedures.
• Experience in investigating incidents, near misses, recurring defects, or systemic reliability challenges, as well as translating findings into actionable corrective measures.
• Expertise in creating governance or assurance frameworks that foster operational improvement beyond mere reporting.
• Credible presence in the field, comfortable with site visits, control rooms, methods of procedure, maintenance realities, and engaging in challenging technical discussions.
• Ability to influence within a matrixed organization and effectively challenge senior regional, operations, engineering, and technical leaders while preserving trust and collaboration.
• Proficiency in executive-level communication, including succinct risk narratives, decision-ready documents, and establishing credibility with senior executives.
• Willingness to travel globally up to 30%-40%, with potential for increased travel over time.
• Preferred: Experience in hyperscale data center or colocation operations.
• Preferred: Background in utilities, power generation, aviation, semiconductor manufacturing, oil and gas, nuclear, pharmaceuticals, or advanced manufacturing.
• Preferred: Familiarity with operational technology, BMS and SCADA systems, alarm quality, configuration management, and telemetry.
• Preferred: Experience in establishing or scaling a new function in a high-growth setting.
