
Vice President, Payroll, Benefits – Workforce Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the executive leader and subject matter expert for payroll operations, payroll tax, wage and hour compliance, and payroll governance at LOVB.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across a diverse, multi-state, multi-entity workforce.
• Implement payroll controls, reconciliations, approvals, tax registrations, filings, remittances, audits, and year-end reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance on payroll accounting, accruals, funding, and financial reporting.
• Oversee health and welfare plans, retirement programs, leave administration, voluntary benefits, and the annual Open Enrollment process.
• Manage relationships with benefits brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and other benefits partners.
• Assist with compensation administration, salary actions, incentive management, annual merit processes, and workforce transactions.
• Own and manage LOVB's Rippling HCM platform and related workforce technologies, including Jira.
• Create the workforce systems roadmap and supervise configuration, workflows, integrations, security, testing, releases, and change management.
• Direct onboarding, employment changes, transfers, promotions, compensation adjustments, leaves of absence, and offboarding processes.
• Ensure operational compliance, audits, regulatory reporting, responses to government inquiries, due diligence requests, and remediation efforts.
• Develop workforce analytics, reporting, dashboards, labor analytics, predictive reporting, and data governance standards.
• Collaborate on workforce planning, budgeting, forecasting, organizational modeling, and executive decision-making.
• Manage payroll, benefits, HCM, compensation, and strategic operational vendor relationships.
• Lead vendor implementations, contract renewals, service transitions, issue resolution, and budget management.
• Foster process improvements, automation, standardization, scalable practices, cross-functional planning, training, and change management.
• Convey operational insights, risks, recommendations, and priorities to executive leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Established expertise in payroll operations, payroll tax, wage and hour compliance, multi-state employment regulations, and payroll governance.
• In-depth knowledge of benefits administration, workforce systems, HCM platforms, workforce reporting, and operational compliance.
• Proven success in leading enterprise payroll and workforce operations within a complex, multi-state organization.
• Experience managing HCM platforms, preferably Rippling, including workflows, integrations, security, governance, reporting, and data management.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, operational risk management, and workforce data integrity.
• Ability to align payroll, workforce administration, and HCM operations with financial and organizational objectives.
• Robust financial and analytical skills, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, vendor management, and operational planning.
• Proven track record of leading leaders and specialized operational teams through growth, transformation, and system implementations.
• Excellent judgment, discretion, and integrity in handling confidential employee, payroll, financial, and organizational information.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Operations, or a related field.
• Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in payroll, workforce administration, benefits, HCM, finance operations, compliance, or related fields.
• At least five years of experience leading managers, functional leaders, or multidisciplinary operational teams.
• Demonstrated capability in building scalable operational processes, systems, governance frameworks, and internal controls.
• Experience managing substantial vendor relationships, contracts, budgets, system implementations, and external service providers.
• Experience supporting a complex, multi-state, and multi-entity workforce is highly preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation or other relevant certifications is preferred.
