This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Establish partnerships with physicians and define the growth strategy for the Division.
• Oversee clinical, financial, and operational performance within a portfolio valued at approximately $300M.
• Lead, recruit, retain, motivate, and develop the operations team effectively.
• Supervise Directors of Operations and provide strategic guidance for achieving operational excellence.
• Facilitate board governance, board meetings, regulatory reporting, industry updates, lobbying efforts, and stakeholder relationship communications.
• Manage quality, operational efficiency, cost management, risk management, regulatory compliance, teammate engagement and retention, as well as provider engagement.
• Design and implement the Division portfolio, business plans, and growth strategies.
• Maintain relationships with health system joint ventures, physician partnerships, and physician practice management MSOs.
• Identify regional opportunities, support organic growth, and increase same-store and Division volume and revenue.
• Assist with acquisition due diligence and guide operations leaders through the evaluation and execution of new opportunities.
• Represent AMSURG to key stakeholders and foster partnerships with physicians and health systems.
• Promote the clinician value proposition and initiatives centered on Patient-Centered Care.
• Advocate for the adoption of strategic initiatives.
• Manage the Division's financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting, and achieving portfolio and growth targets.
• Aid in Managed Care messaging.
• Provide crisis leadership, assess situations, develop action plans, debrief stakeholders, and address root causes.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with a history of fostering team success and meeting organizational goals.
• Proactive approach to identifying and addressing opportunities or challenges without direct supervision.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with physicians, staff members, and external clients.
• Strong managerial skills in overseeing complex projects and managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Comfortable presenting to senior management, boards, community divisions, and physicians.
• Proven capacity to take initiative and drive projects to successful completion with minimal oversight.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in a highly matrixed organization.
• Growth-oriented mindset with a dedication to continuous learning and self-improvement.
• Willingness to embrace challenges, learn from feedback, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, averaging 40–60%.
• Preferred home base in Nashville, DFW, Chicago, or Atlanta.
• Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in healthcare operations management.
• Extensive leadership experience in healthcare operations within a multi-state integrated healthcare delivery system.
• Direct P&L experience with a healthcare operation generating a minimum of $100M in revenue.
