
Vice President, Network Development – Contracting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Direct the activities related to the provider network and contracting.
• Oversee all facets of provider network strategy, which includes access analysis and network operations.
• Assist decision-makers with analyses pertaining to reimbursement and unit cost management.
• Supervise the coordination and negotiation efforts of the contracting department.
• Define the strategic vision, objectives, and policies and procedures for the department.
• Create, implement, and uphold production and quality standards for the Contracting department.
• Manage network development personnel and external consultants in building provider networks in expanding markets.
• Conduct regular analyses of the provider network focusing on cost, coverage, and growth metrics.
• Provide leadership in assessing opportunities to expand or modify the network to align with Company objectives.
• Administer budgeting and forecasting initiatives related to network costs and provider contracts for product lines.
• Supervise the analysis of claims trend data and/or market insights to draw conclusions that support contract negotiations.
• Perform periodic reviews of provider contracting rates to ensure alignment with the overall Company strategy.
• Facilitate market expansion and M&A efforts by leading provider contract analyses during due diligence.
• Assist the health plan CEO and/or COO vendors in critical provider relations and strategic planning.
• Willingness to travel.
• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.
• An MBA or MHA degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in managed care network development and provider relations/contracting management in a healthcare and/or managed care setting is required.
• Prior management experience, including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning tasks, and managing staff performance.
