Vice President, Market Access

📋 Description

• Lead the strategy for U.S. Market Access and the organizational development for the launch of vidofludimus calcium, encompassing pricing, contracting, reimbursement, and distribution.

• Create comprehensive access strategies that cover Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, DoD, and various government channels.

• Oversee the national payer strategy, engaging in negotiations with health plans, PBMs, IDNs, health systems, and specialty pharmacies.

• Develop payer value propositions leveraging clinical, economic, and real-world evidence to secure favorable formulary coverage.

• Establish pricing strategy, gross-to-net assumptions, and frameworks for specialty pharmacy, trade, and distribution to ensure readiness for launch operations.

• Collaborate with Medical Affairs/HEOR on payer evidence strategy, AMCP dossiers, and value communication; assist in post-launch evidence generation.

• Participate in the Commercial Leadership Team, aligning with Marketing, Sales, Medical, Regulatory, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain for launch preparedness.

• Design and construct the Market Access organizational structure, capabilities, and metrics across Payer Strategy, Marketing, Pricing/Contracting, Trade, Analytics, and Excellence functions.

• Recruit and lead a field Market Access team, including National, Federal, and Regional Account Managers as well as Field Reimbursement Managers.

• Establish field deployment strategies (territories, hiring, training, incentives) and ensure strong collaboration with Sales and Medical Affairs to maximize adoption.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA, PharmD, MPH, or other advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.

• Proven success in leading U.S. Market Access organizations for specialty pharmaceutical products.

• Direct experience in steering U.S. Market Access strategy for one or more multiple sclerosis product launches is highly preferred.

• Candidates with significant leadership roles in the successful commercialization of MS therapies will be given strong preference.

• Profound understanding of the competitive dynamics, payer landscape, specialty pharmacy networks, treatment centers, and reimbursement environment related to multiple sclerosis, as well as negotiation experience with commercial payers, PBMs, Medicare Part D plans, federal healthcare systems, specialty pharmacies, and integrated health systems.

• Proven track record in building and leading field-based Market Access organizations; experience in developing commercial infrastructure within an emerging biotechnology company or first-launch organization is strongly preferred.
