
Vice President, Lab Pilot

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Lead and develop the LabPilot business unit, dedicated to laboratory software, connectivity, and data management solutions.
• Function as the general manager, overseeing full P&L, portfolio management, and team leadership.
• Establish the business unit's strategy, product vision, platform architecture direction, commercial model, pricing strategy, and competitive positioning.
• Spearhead AOP planning, which includes revenue forecasts, investment requirements, workforce plans, and capital necessities.
• Own the product roadmap, focusing on platform development, module releases, integration partnerships, and enhancements driven by customer feedback.
• Sanction NPI gate decisions and ensure that new products and significant releases are supported by thorough business cases and commercial launch strategies.
• Assess build-versus-buy-versus-partner decisions and explore potential acquisition opportunities.
• Build, lead, nurture, and expand the LabPilot product team.
• Create a high-performing, software-centric product organization and recruit top talent in product and commercial areas.
• Enhance external market presence through customer advisory programs, key account relationships, conferences, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Manage strategic partnerships and integration relationships with LIMS, ELN, and other partners within the laboratory ecosystem.
• Cultivate relationships with enterprise customer stakeholders in IT, operations, and laboratory management.
• Align the go-to-market strategy with PerkinElmer's broader segment priorities.
• Collaborate with R&D software engineering leadership on architecture, resource allocation for development, and technical roadmap decisions.
• Work together with product line teams to integrate LabPilot with hardware product lines and develop cross-selling opportunities.
• Represent LabPilot in portfolio reviews, investment committees, and senior-level discussions regarding digital strategy and software expansion.
• Over 15 years of experience in product management, software product leadership, or general management within a software or technology business, preferably with experience in scientific instrumentation, lab informatics, or laboratory automation.
• Proven P&L ownership in a software or SaaS product business, with direct responsibility for revenue growth, margin control, and the evolution of commercial models.
• Experience in building and leading product teams in a software setting: ownership of roadmaps, governance of NPI, and delivery of cross-functional programs.
• Familiarity with lab informatics concepts: LIMS, ELN, instrument connectivity, data management, and the laboratory IT ecosystem.
• Strong executive presence and commercial acumen, capable of promoting the LabPilot vision to enterprise clients, technology partners, and internal stakeholders at PerkinElmer.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Preferred: An advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in a scientific or technical discipline.
• Preferred: Experience in a laboratory software company—LIMS, ELN, SDMS, or instrument data management—with a deep understanding of enterprise customer purchasing behavior.
• Preferred: A history of transforming commercial models from perpetual/transactional to subscription or SaaS.
• Preferred: Knowledge of PerkinElmer's hardware portfolio and analytical data workflows.
