This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Strategy Officer, aiding in the execution of PolicyLink's strategic vision while promoting cohesion, alignment, and ensuring organizational integrity.
• Transform the organizational vision and ambitious ideas into actionable priorities and workplans, linking activities to outcomes that significantly impact communities.
• Oversee strategic projects and initiatives within the Governing for All portfolio, including direct oversight of team members.
• Develop internal systems and processes that enhance efficiency, communication, knowledge sharing, and accountability across legal, policy, and operations teams.
• Establish metrics, track progress, and ensure that each team meets its objectives and delivers on commitments.
• Assist the Chief Strategy Officer in the organization's growth and development by seeking strategic funding opportunities and expanding programs.
• Increase the visibility of Governing for All, contributing to the enhancement of the organization’s influence and credibility.
• Maintain and reinforce relationships with current partners.
• Identify and nurture strategic partnerships with new organizations that align with PolicyLink’s mission.
• Foster a culture focused on achievement, impactful outcomes, and excellence.
• A strong commitment to PolicyLink’s vision of a nation that truly governs for all.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in senior leadership roles within organizations.
• Preferred experience in advocacy, government, public policy, think tanks, or research organizations.
• A proven ability to align programmatic efforts and operations with organizational strategy alongside leadership and senior staff.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state policy development and advocacy processes.
• Commitment to values-driven leadership with a people-management style that is results-oriented, collaborative, and promotes inclusivity and belonging.
• A proactive self-starter who demonstrates flexibility, initiative, and an entrepreneurial mindset in their work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with excellent judgment.
• Exceptional skills in relationship building, with the capacity to develop and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to translate vision into actionable goals and deliverables.
• Comfortable working with results-based accountability and fostering a learning environment.
• Experience managing complexity and maintaining rigor in the work environment.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams.
