This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and implement a comprehensive community engagement strategy that aligns with the organization's mission, technological roadmap, and long-term strategic plan.
• Recognize emerging needs and opportunities within higher education, MSIs, research institutions, federal agencies, community anchor institutions, and industry partners.
• Advocate for the community's voice in executive leadership discussions and organizational decision-making processes.
• Support the success of the MS-CC, an NSF-sponsored initiative aimed at enhancing advanced cyberinfrastructure at Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and other minority-serving institutions to bolster data and research computing, teaching, curriculum development, collaboration, and institutional connections.
• Collaborate with community leaders to co-design programs and capacity-building initiatives that enable MSIs and other underserved institutions to fully engage in the national R&E ecosystem.
• Foster inclusive engagement practices that guarantee broad participation from Internet2's stakeholder community.
• Establish and nurture trusted relationships with senior leaders across member institutions, MSIs, consortia, and partner organizations.
• Drive the development of strategic partnerships that enhance the organization's networking, cyberinfrastructure, and trust and identity services, with a focus on closing gaps in access and participation.
• Represent the organization in national, regional, and international forums, advisory boards, and working groups pertinent to R&E technology and digital equity.
• Work collaboratively with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure that services meet community needs and provide clear value to a diverse array of institutions and stakeholders.
• Ensure that strategic communications related to community engagement include impact stories and case studies that showcase the progress of the Internet2 stakeholder community.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for member relations, community programs, events, and impact reporting.
• Contribute to budget planning, revenue strategies related to membership or participation, and the long-term sustainability of community and equity-focused programs.
• Bachelor’s degree and over 15 years of overall experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• More than 5 years of experience in a senior strategic, operational, or advisory role.
• Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects and senior-level relationships.
• Strong network of connections and allies from across the R&E and global Internet community.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear insights.
• Experience in providing strategic solutions to under-resourced institutions to help them achieve their missions.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior leadership to address challenges, build consensus, and leverage opportunities through strategic communications and outreach initiatives.
• Proven diplomatic and tactful skills when engaging with internal and external stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Strong ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones in a global setting.
