This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide senior leadership at the VP level across the pharmacy program, shaping strategy, direction, quality, and performance.
• Lead the strategy, design, clinical decision-making, and complex management of the workers' compensation pharmacy program.
• Serve as a client-facing leader and translate program capabilities into tangible client value.
• Review, refine, and continuously enhance pharmacy programs.
• Analyze claims data and book-of-business metrics, translating trends into actionable strategy.
• Represent the organization in industry forums to strengthen its market reputation.
• Collaborate with operational, clinical, and business leaders to align pharmacy strategy with organizational objectives.
• Engage with pharmacy benefit managers on pricing models, reporting, benefit networks, formularies, and custom triggers.
• Create tailored reporting for large clients and clarify program complexities and benefits.
• Support partnerships with pharmacy benefit management vendors and operational teams.
• Prepare and present at national conferences and client meetings.
• Monitor the marketplace and assist with client relationship management.
• Understand the landscape of the workers' compensation pharmacy industry and its implications for Sedgwick and its clients.
• Develop client solutions and discuss formulary options, pharmacy issues, and industry trends.
• Evaluate the feasibility and business case for bringing pharmacy benefit services in-house as a Sedgwick offering.
• Analyze pharmacy networks and pursue transparent vendor cost models with potential rebate insights.
• Administer personnel policies, staffing standards, and training recommendations.
• Interview, hire, establish performance development plans, and conduct performance discussions.
• Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to maximize colleague performance.
• PharmD degree from an accredited university or school of pharmacy is preferred, or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent PBM management and healthcare benefit experience.
• Active unrestricted pharmacy license as a PharmD or clinical pharmacist in at least one U.S. state is preferred.
• A minimum of ten years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• At least two years of recent clinical practice experience.
• A minimum of two years of management experience.
• Experience in the workers' compensation industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of current pharmacy trends, alternative resources, and treatments in outpatient and alternative care settings.
• Substantial background in workers’ compensation pharmacy and familiarity with the managed care landscape.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders in a client-facing role.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret claims and book-of-business data.
• Proven track record in pharmacy program leadership, development, quality improvement, and innovation.
• Established or emerging thought leadership and comfort in representing an organization externally.
• Executive-level presence with excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Understanding of brand drug rebate processes and potential client rebate offerings.
• Knowledge of utilization management and workers' compensation practices.
• Proven management and leadership abilities.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office products.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Capable of meeting or exceeding performance competencies.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
