This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develops and oversees the comprehensive strategy for the Business Development department, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategic priorities.
• Manages the department to guarantee that staff meet their revenue and professional objectives, providing guidance, training, performance management, leadership development, and career advancement.
• Identifies and nurtures potential successors within the team.
• Leads initiatives to engage and foster revenue-generating partnerships with corporations and foundations, advancing the organization's mission and broadening brand reach and messaging.
• Ensures consistency in branding across corporate communications and collaborates with staff and stakeholders on effective corporate policy enterprise-wide.
• Reviews and authorizes the use of the organization’s trademark in contexts involving commercial partnerships.
• Stays informed about trends pertinent to the department's operations and strategies, integrating relevant measures to implement changes and innovations.
• Identifies and assesses new models for corporate relationships.
• Tracks and monitors the performance of the team.
• Develops, prepares, and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to document and track team performance.
• Participates in cross-departmental planning projects and meetings.
• Addresses complex issues within the department and implements solutions that require collaboration across departments.
• Promotes philosophical norms and culture throughout the region.
• Performs additional duties or responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Nonprofit Operations, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required.
• At least fifteen (15) years of experience in corporate engagement, business development, or nonprofit operations is required.
• Management experience in a related field, including responsibilities for staff management, strategy development and execution, as well as fiscal and budget accountability, preferably in the animal welfare sector, is required.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in a work environment; adaptable, eager to learn, and anticipates the needs of both self and staff.
• Skilled at setting a positive tone for employees throughout their workday.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; possesses high energy, self-motivation, and a proactive approach.
• Capable of managing issues that require problem resolution and conflict management, with excellent interpersonal and intervention skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of confidence, integrity, interpersonal skills, and a professional executive presence for effective interaction and influence.
• Understanding of business operations, including effective budget development and management processes.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence, evidenced by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Knowledge of CRM software is preferred.
• Strong interest in animal protection issues is preferred.
