Vice President, Architecture, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the enterprise technology architecture across all platforms.

• Create and sustain a multi-year technology roadmap.

• Establish architectural principles, standards, and governance.

• Evaluate significant technology initiatives.

• Ensure scalability, maintainability, security, and resilience.

• Lead the architecture review board.

• Manage enterprise AI architecture, which includes generative AI platforms, agentic AI frameworks, LLM infrastructure, RAG, knowledge platforms, model evaluation, AI governance, prompt engineering standards, AI observability, and human-in-the-loop workflows.

• Provide technical guidance across AWS, Kubernetes, containers, serverless computing, networking, APIs, event-driven architecture, microservices, IAM, IaC, CI/CD, and platform engineering.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering on enterprise data architecture, governance, data quality, semantic layers, MDM, metadata, lakehouse, Snowflake, and data APIs.

• Offer architectural oversight for Salesforce, member and provider portals, internal operations, integration platforms, APIs, and workflow automation.

• Set engineering standards for secure SDLC, architecture reviews, documentation, coding, AI-assisted development, testing, technical debt management, developer productivity, and platform reliability.

• Assess build-versus-buy-versus-partner decisions, vendors, emerging technologies, AI roadmap, platform investments, engineering productivity, technology risk, and innovation portfolio.

• Counsel executive leadership on technology investments, AI strategy, technical due diligence, architecture decisions, board presentations, and enterprise modernization.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering and enterprise architecture.

• 5+ years of experience leading architecture for enterprise SaaS platforms.

• Proven experience in building cloud-native applications at scale.

• Successful track record in leading enterprise modernization initiatives.

• In-depth expertise in AI platform architecture and production AI systems.

• Experience in highly regulated industries.

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship for an employment visa or any other type of U.S. work authorization.

• Ability to support or collaborate across multiple time zones.

• Preferred: 15+ years in software engineering and enterprise architecture.

• Preferred: 8+ years of experience leading architecture for enterprise SaaS platforms.

• Preferred: Experience in the highly regulated healthcare industry.
