This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and manage intricate field assessments and inspections across various projects.
• Create and present detailed maintenance and modernization specifications.
• Review and authorize submittals, shop drawings, and performance data.
• Direct the production of construction drawings specific to VHT.
• Provide expert interpretation of complex construction drawings for teams and clients.
• Spearhead new elevator system design, establish design standards, and offer expert guidance on integrating vertical transportation within multifaceted projects.
• Conduct advanced traffic analyses, validate and challenge assumptions, and establish firmwide best practices for utilizing Elevate or other traffic simulation tools.
• Strategically manage essential client relationships across multiple projects.
• Facilitate high-stakes engagements with clients.
• Shape recommendations to align with client business and budgetary objectives.
• Compose persuasive reports, narratives, and proposals that influence decision-making.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration among MEPF, architecture, and commissioning teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring accountability for quality.
• Lead internal design review meetings and ensure alignment of VHT strategies with project goals.
• Set quality standards and guide cross-discipline integration for new elevator design projects.
• Oversee the development of RFP responses and client presentations.
• Utilize relationships to cultivate new business and expand service offerings.
• Shape project strategy through scoping, forecasting, and workload planning on a portfolio level.
• Promote Henderson as the recognized leader in new elevator design.
• Mentor and provide guidance to Consultant I and II level staff.
• Conduct training and share knowledge on industry standards, field practices, and consulting skills.
• Assist the Design Manager with staff development and feedback.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture is preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience in the elevator, escalator, or vertical transportation industry, or a minimum of 10 years without a related bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in contract review, proposal writing, and client account management.
• Involvement in industry organizations (NAESA, NAEC, ASME, etc.).
• Demonstrated expertise in specification writing, inspections, submittal review, and client consulting.
• Strong knowledge of elevator system modernization and maintenance best practices.
• Familiarity with ASME A17.1, A17.2, A17.3, NFPA 70, IBC, and local code requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, ClickUp, and Procore.
• Excellent communication skills and technical writing proficiency.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly for site work.
• QEI, CEI, or similar elevator inspection certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong mentoring and leadership skills.
