VHT Consultant I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in conducting field assessments, maintenance audits, modernization surveys, and inspections under supervision.

• Draft specifications for maintenance and modernization surveys with guidance.

• Review basic submittals and shop drawings to ensure compliance.

• Contribute to the development of construction drawings.

• Read and interpret construction drawings with assistance.

• Support the design of new elevators by preparing base layouts, conducting code research, and gathering technical data under the direction of more senior consultants.

• Aid in traffic studies by compiling building data and inputting it into Elevate or other software under supervision.

• Facilitate client interactions by attending meetings and taking notes.

• Provide timely updates and draft technical recommendations.

• Prepare basic reports, lists, and proposals.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams by sharing data and insights.

• Participate in design reviews and learn about coordination practices.

• Seek feedback to ensure the quality of deliverables.

• Provide input on new design coordination initiatives as part of multi-disciplinary teams.

• Assist in proposal efforts by contributing technical content.

• Identify potential opportunities through project involvement.

• Help with scoping, planning, and forecasting under the direction of more senior consultants.

• Offer baseline technical input for pursuits related to new elevator design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management is preferred.

• 0-2 years of experience in the elevator/escalator industry (OEM, maintenance, modernization) or 4 or more years of experience in a preferred field without a bachelor’s degree.

• Working knowledge of ASME A17.1, A17.2, NFPA 70, and IBC.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents with support from senior staff.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and project management platforms such as ClickUp and Procore.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in writing or reviewing specifications.

• Willingness to obtain OSHA 10/30 or other site safety credentials.
