VDC/BIM Quality Assurance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct quality assurance and quality control evaluations of integrated mechanical and plumbing BIM models.

• Assess coordinated drawings and fabrication documents.

• Ensure that VDC deliverables are precise, comprehensive, constructible, coordinated, and consistent with contract documents, project specifications, approved submittals, manufacturer requirements, relevant codes, and company standards.

• Collaborate closely with VDC Coordinators, Project Managers, VDC Management, and trade partners.

• Detect deficiencies and relay findings effectively.

• Promote continuous improvement within the VDC and construction processes.

• Clearly document and communicate technical issues.

• Recognize incomplete systems, coordination challenges, and potential installation problems in the field.

• Assess the feasibility of installing coordinated models.

• Identify recurring issues and assist in enhancing VDC standards and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in VDC, BIM coordination, mechanical construction, plumbing construction, or a similar field.

• Strong grasp of mechanical and plumbing systems and construction methodologies.

• Experience in reviewing Revit models and coordinated construction drawings.

• Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, Smartsheet, and Bluebeam.

• Capability to interpret contract drawings, specifications, submittals, and manufacturer documentation.

• Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing coordination and constructability.

• Ability to pinpoint incomplete systems, coordination challenges, and potential field installation issues.

• Keen attention to detail with the ability to conduct systematic quality reviews.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Competence in providing clear, professional, and fact-based QAQC feedback.

• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with VDC teams, Project Managers, and trade partners.
