This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create, develop, and sustain test plans, test cases, and test suites for functional, regression, integration, performance, and security assessments.
• Perform both manual and automated testing for RESTful APIs, front-end elements, and back-end services.
• Record and classify defects with reproducible steps and severity ratings.
• Construct and uphold automated testing frameworks and incorporate test execution into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate deployments hosted on AWS and serverless architectures, including regression testing after deployment.
• Execute API-level testing to verify contracts, error handling, and data integrity.
• Design and implement performance and load tests, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate on solutions.
• Ensure compliance with testing coverage for HIPAA, NIST, and healthcare regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Full-Stack Engineers to enhance testing efficiency and boost unit and integration test coverage.
• Assist in testing document management and OCR-integrated workflows.
• Keep test documentation, traceability matrices, test reports, and defect logs updated.
• Convey test status and quality risks effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Engage in code reviews with a focus on quality.
• Set testing standards, refine testing processes, mentor engineers, and remain up-to-date with QA methodologies.
• Over 5 years of experience in software test engineering, QA engineering, or a closely related field.
• Proven track record of owning test strategy and execution.
• Expertise in automated testing for .NET/C# and React environments.
• Familiarity with backend testing tools like xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
• Experience utilizing frontend testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Practical experience in REST API testing, including response schema validation and coverage of error conditions.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using platforms like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and exploratory testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, k6, or Locust.
• Experience with cloud-hosted applications and an understanding of AWS service behaviors.
• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL database testing and query-based data validation.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and collaborative development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities along with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to sit, read, work on a computer, and watch a computer screen for extended periods.
• Preferred: experience in federal health IT or regulated sectors; document management and OCR workflow testing; security testing; AWS certifications or serverless architecture validation; validation of AI/ML outputs; ISTQB certification; testing for healthcare interoperability with HL7 or FHIR.
