VDC Designer 3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, oversee, and enhance 3D models for electrical systems utilizing Revit

• Collaborate with various disciplines and industry trades to ensure smooth model integration

• Uphold project models in accordance with BIM execution plans and specific project standards

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve conflicts between electrical and other systems using Navisworks or similar applications

• Create technical drawings that adhere to project specifications and industry norms

• Produce schedules and Bills of Materials derived from BIM models for procurement and construction teams

• Facilitate BIM coordination meetings and engage with both internal and external project stakeholders

• Aid in planning, organizing, and implementing BIM workflows for medium to large-scale projects

• Manage timelines and deliverables, ensuring the punctual submission of precise models and documentation

• Contribute to the creation and enforcement of BIM standards and best practices throughout projects

• Recognize workflow enhancements and apply new modeling tools or processes

• Mentor Designer 1 and 2 on BIM best practices and offer technical support

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification

• Two-year degree in electrical construction, electrical design for construction, or a related field preferred

• Over 5 years of experience in BIM coordination or electrical design within the construction sector

• Experience on medium-to-large projects with intricate electrical systems

• Expertise in Revit, Navisworks or Revizto, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Knowledge of BIM standards and model coordination platforms

• Understanding of electrical systems

• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working in multidisciplinary teams

• Problem-solving approach with a focus on detail and precision

• Familiarity with Dynamo scripting or other Revit automation tools is preferred

• Experience with cloud-based collaboration tools such as BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud is preferred

• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC and IEC, is preferred

• Ability to work in a professional office setting and utilize standard office equipment

• Capacity to sit frequently and occasionally kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl

• Ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as required

• Capacity to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
