VAT Compliance Consultant, EU-UK

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Manage and advise international clients regarding indirect taxation (VAT)

• Collaborate effectively with senior consultants and Managers

• Oversee compliance with indirect tax regulations in the European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

• Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns, ECL/EC Sales List, Intrastat, and other formal obligations

• Handle VAT refund procedures for non-established entities and explore alternative avenues through VAT registration

• Analyze the necessity of VAT registration in various Member States and manage recurring obligations

• Provide guidance on international transactions, VAT rates, deductibility, output VAT, and localization rules

• Analyze operations related to intra-community deliveries, imports, and exports

• Implement the reverse charge mechanism

• Review invoicing obligations in EU countries

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in the tax department of a large company, tax advisory firm, or fiscal consultancy

• Educational background in Law, Economics, or Business Administration

• Master's degree or specialized course in Taxation, Fiscal Advisory, or VAT

• Proficient level of spoken and written English

• Previous essential experience in filing VAT returns in the European Union and the United Kingdom

• Knowledge of Swiss regulations is desirable

• Familiarity with customs, Special Taxes, and international direct taxation is a plus

• Strong understanding of Spanish VAT law and European VAT regulations

• Proven experience in submitting and reviewing VAT returns and recurring obligations: VAT, Intrastat, ECL/349, or equivalents

• Experience in VAT recovery procedures
