Value Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Implement and integrate real systems by connecting PLCs, sensors, and data pipelines to enhance the efficiency and reliability of factories.

• Advise clients on generating business value by designing use cases, implementing solutions, and capturing measurable outcomes.

• Influence product development by providing feedback based on real-world experiences to make UMH more scalable, robust, and user-friendly for developers.

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and automate data flows utilizing MQTT, Kafka (Redpanda), Docker, Benthos, and Grafana while documenting best practices for others to utilize.

• Collaborate closely with the Product Engineering team to prototype new features, test deployments, and continually enhance the UMH stack.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with OT or IT systems, including PLCs, sensors, message brokers, containerized applications, or industrial protocols.

• Strong communication skills to engage with customers effectively, establish trust quickly, and serve as a dependable technical advisor.

• Ability to convert complex customer challenges into clear and actionable technical solutions.

• Comfortable being the technical representative of a product, embodying the roles of engineer, consultant, and educator, while thriving in fast-paced and high-responsibility settings.

• A strong inclination towards self-directed learning and independence; you can navigate ambiguity and create structure when necessary.

• Proficiency in both German and English.
