UX Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the Oomnitza design system from start to finish, encompassing visual language, interaction patterns, accessibility guidelines, and rules for consistency.

• Oversee and enhance the Storybook component library to guarantee that components are accurate, well-documented, efficient, accessible, and easy to integrate.

• Develop and manage prototyping tools, which include design tokens, AI-prompt scaffolds, design markdowns, and starter kits.

• Collaborate with Product Engineers on innovative UX interactions and incorporate the resulting patterns, components, or guidance into the design system.

• Work alongside engineering teams to ensure the design system aligns with the implementation library and identify unique interactions for systematization.

• Evaluate prototypes, identify design-system deviations, and uphold the quality standards for design outputs.

• Monitor Figma plugins, AI design tools, headless component libraries, and accessibility standards; recommend investments to enhance productivity.

• Equip Product Engineers with a thoroughly tested and well-documented platform for quick, high-quality discovery and prototyping.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of combined experience in product design and front-end engineering.

• Proven experience in owning or significantly contributing to a production design system and Storybook or a similar component library.

• Proficient front-end skills in React, TypeScript, modern CSS, design tokens, and best practices for accessibility.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows.

• Capability to identify quality design and translate it into reusable patterns and components.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Self-motivated and results-driven, with the capacity to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.

• Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software is highly desirable.
