Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop high-quality components and interactions across WorkOS products.

• Create prototypes, launch new products, and explore innovative interaction patterns.

• Enhance WorkDS, WorkOS’s design system, focusing on performance, state management, accessibility, and interaction behavior.

• Collaborate with product teams to directly test concepts with customers and validate successful implementations.

• Present work in progress early and engage in open collaboration to expedite solution finding.

• Contribute to improving company practices through design system enhancements and agent instructions.

• Strong attention to design details and a deep commitment to craftsmanship.

• Proven track record of delivering polished products.

• Capability to communicate design decisions, alternatives, trade-offs, and their broader product implications.

• Ability to consider edge cases, error and empty states, accessibility, and technical limitations.

• Proficiency in both code and design tools like Figma and Paper.

• AI-first working mindset with established workflows and the ability to share them.

• Proactive in identifying and addressing gaps in product design.

• Experience working in small teams within fast-paced, high-agency environments.

• Bonus: Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Radix.

• Bonus: Background in developer tools, enterprise software, or other technical products.
