This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Champion user needs throughout the design and development phases, ensuring solutions effectively address genuine user requirements.
• Review current products and features to pinpoint user challenges while aligning with product objectives and technical limitations.
• Perform both manual and automated accessibility assessments, document results, and propose actionable solutions.
• Consult with product, technology, business executives, sourcing, and legal teams regarding accessibility trade-offs and the implications of decisions on users with disabilities.
• Aid in prioritizing accessibility issues and improvements.
• Instruct developers on best practices for accessible development utilizing HTML, CSS, and ARIA.
• Integrate accessibility into the product team’s processes and protocols to enhance overall accessibility maturity.
• Develop accessibility annotations for development, including keyboard interactions, screen reader notifications, and ARIA guidance.
• Design and conduct digital accessibility training sessions.
• Enhance collaboration among accessibility teams by facilitating updates to documentation concerning patterns and components.
• Initiate and lead accessibility program projects aimed at enhancing quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• 7–9 years of professional experience in digital accessibility.
• Understanding of disabilities and assistive technology.
• Familiarity with globally recognized accessibility standards, including WCAG.
• Knowledge of best practices in the accessibility industry.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and ARIA.
• Capability to conduct manual and automated accessibility testing.
• Skill in auditing digital products and features, identifying user challenges, and suggesting solutions.
• Ability to guide stakeholders on accessibility and business-related trade-offs.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Instructional Design, or Computer Science.
• Preferred: Accessibility certifications such as CPACC or WAS.
