This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• The US DMA is a regionally focused role within U.S. Medical Affairs (USMA).
• This role strategically enhances scientific excellence across both in-line products and our company's pipeline while optimizing field readiness throughout the USMA strategic pillars.
• In partnership with the USMA Executive Director (ED) and the Health Systems Payor & Access Strategy Lead (HS PASL), this position implements regional strategies that align with headquarters V&I objectives.
• Contributes to the cohesive U.S. Country Medical Affairs Plan (CMAP), which includes the U.S. Field Medical Plan (FMP)/Field Engagement Plan (FEP) and the field training plan for the COPD TA as part of the USMA COPD Leadership Team.
• Identifies and prioritizes U.S. field resources, training requirements, and activities; collaborates with V&I Global Medical & Value Capabilities (V&I GMVC) to ensure content and training are strategically aligned, along with any necessary adult learning initiatives throughout the portfolio.
• Develops a strategic and all-encompassing scientific engagement plan, ensuring that scientific exchanges are consistent with the global scientific communications framework.
• An advanced degree (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD) relevant to the specific disease area and recognized medical expertise in that therapeutic area.
• A minimum of five years of experience in medical affairs or equivalent clinical/research experience.
• At least three years of experience working in COPD (whether in clinical, research, or pharmaceutical settings) or in a highly relevant therapeutic area, demonstrating scientific acumen.
• Proven capability in strategic decision-making and planning, including assisting the U.S. Executive Director in prioritizing initiatives across the portfolio.
• Demonstrated excellence in execution, with a history of leading complex projects and managing multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong emotional intelligence to build trust and respect within a complex, matrixed organizational structure.
• Extensive knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, including national treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and Office of Inspector General (OIG) compliance.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%.
