Unified Communications Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver consistent managed support for Cisco Unified Communications components, which include UCM, CUC, IM&P, CER, and associated voice gateway infrastructure.

• Execute 24/7 monitoring and proactive alert management utilizing Cisco RTMT and additional monitoring tools.

• Perform daily health assessments across Cisco UC applications and voice gateways.

• Handle Moves/Adds/Changes requests for users, IP phones, Jabber clients, dial plans, and call routing.

• Assist with patch management, upgrades, security patches, testing, and outage/change windows.

• Oversee backup and disaster recovery tasks, including CUCM DRS backups, VM-level backup coordination, restoration testing, and failover validation.

• Maintain technical documentation pertaining to Cisco UC configurations and integrations.

• Support ITAR-compliant administrative access practices, conduct quarterly user access audits, and perform toll fraud prevention reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of practical experience in Cisco Unified Communications administration.

• Preferably experienced with Cisco UCM/CUCM, Cisco Unity Connection, IM&P, CER, Jabber, IP phones, and voice gateways.

• Proficient in Cisco RTMT, UC health checks, alert triage, operational monitoring, and incident response.

• Capable of managing MAC requests, dial plan modifications, call routing updates, phone/user provisioning, and support ticket documentation.

• Familiar with LDAP/Active Directory integration for Cisco UC authentication and user provisioning.

• Knowledgeable about UC patching, upgrade planning, backup/restore concepts, and change management practices.

• U.S. citizenship is required due to a government contract.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
